I thought it was an actual plastic covering that went in place of the original guitar pieces. Product Description

My only con for the product is that the sticky foam, used for keeping Boba upright, isn't very strong or effective. I have had him places on several slightly angled surfaces, and he eventually falls over. Doesn't take much to solve this problem, so it certainly isn't a deal breaker.
