I just picked up the XCM Cross Battle adapter PLUS and it works flawlessly with my Sony PS3 Slim. Just connect it to your PS3, connect a *wired* Xbox 360 controller and you're in business. No delays or hesitation, it's very responsive. In fact, while playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) I'd sometimes forget I was playing on a PS3 as it felt like the same playing experience as the Xbox.

Three important things to know. First, you cannot use a wireless controller with a charge cable to connect. The charge cable simply charges the wireless controller, it doesn't establish a connection between the wireless controller and the XCM. In short, you need a WIRED controller. Second, you cannot use an XBox headset that connects to your Xbox controller - the XCM doesn't handle that (not that I expected it to.) Third, if you find that you lose your connection frequently, turn OFF the Controller Auto-Off power saving option on your PS3. It's in the XMB (Cross Media Bar) under... Read more

First of all, I loathe the dualshock design and have ever since it was tacked on to the original playstation controllers. I also have hand/arm "issues" (medical in nature) that make gaming on the PS3 uncomfortable to be polite.

This product is easy to use. Turn on your PS3, plug this device into the PS3, plug a wired 360 controller into the device and you're ready to go. It's that simple. If you love the 360 design, this is a wonderful thing.

There are a few drawbacks, however.

One is that you actually need the wired 360 controller.

Another is that while in use the green LEDs (that signal what player you are) all flash while in use.

Also, there is no motion sensing for any game that may require it (I recommend the Nyko Zero to solve this).

Next, this adapter will not work with PS2 games played on the PS3 (if you have a BC model of PS3).

Finally, this item would have really benefited from a way to assign... Read more

I have the Street Fighter 4 TE and a HORI-RAP 3 arcade sticks and tried them both with the XCM Cross Battle adapter. I was able to get the joysticks to work right from the start and I was thrilled that I might be able to play SSFIV with some friends of mine that had a PS3. I went to training mode and started trying some combos. I was able to pull off basic moves just fine, but when I tried to link stuff together which required some faster joystick inputs (QCF or QCB in particular) the buttons wouldn't quite work. I opened up the input options in training mode to see what exactly was being inputted when I tried to do a fireball: I did a d,df,f+P on the joystick and it ended up inputting d,d,f,f+P. I tried it multiple times and anytime I tried to quickly pull off a fireball it wouldn't input the d/f. A simple combo like mk,fireball would almost never come out.

So, long story short the product works in that you can get your 360 controller/joystick to work on the PS3,... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Addicting, Complete, And Playable, November 24, 2006
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas (Video Game)
Combine the popular "Dynasty Mode" and customization options of sports games with the great take-cover functions of Gears of War, and the weaponry and tactical realism of Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, and you have Rainbow Six: Vegas, probably the most complete shooter to date.

Let me jump to the custom character section right off: this is SICK. Using your Xbox Vision Camera, you can create an uncanny shaved head version of yourself to use in the game, and online. You can then customize your weapons, rated on accuracy, range, and damage, as well as your shoulder, chest, arm and leg armor, which force you to choose between mobility and protection. You can shoose to have a super-zooming rifle scope on your pistol or rifle, or a laser sight, or more. All prettied and ready to go?

Playing any number of games, either in single player or online or multi-player will earn you experience points and medals. The more points you receive, the higher your rank (you start... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars One Of The Best On 360, November 30, 2006
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas (Video Game)
This game not only draws you in with it's incredible graphics and gameplay, but the story is actually something involving. This game is very intense, but controls beautifully under pressure; Some Ghost Recon-type elements have been added to your movement, such as being able to seek cover and fire from around corners. Commanding your team has never been easier, and they actually help you more this time around; The enemies are smart and numerous, making some levels last as long as almost 2 hours to get through; But most of all it's REALLY FUN!! It is nice to see this console finally produce a game that hits all the right marks. I was overly impressed with this game...Plus I love all the shiny colors!! Ubisoft got this one right all the way around! And in case I haven't stressed this enough--the graphics are amazing, even on a non-HDTV.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Game!!, January 23, 2007

= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas (Video Game)
It's hard to really describe how much fun I've had with this game. The graphics are supberb, the sounds also amazing. Grenades sound real and powerful, as does shotguns, etc. Especially with a solid surround sound system.

I've almost completed the campaign and have done most of the T-Hunt Missions. Both are very fun to play, and I LOVE the fact that you can do both co-op with a friend ON THE SAME SCREEN. Many other games force you to play co-op type missions online or don't offer them at all. But, RB6 also offers the co-op features online, as well as a wide array of VS modes to keep things interesting.

The only small complaint I have with the multiplayer is that only two players can play on one console, you have to set up a system link to be able to get 4 buddies in on the game.

Nonetheless still tremendously fun, and I like the "call of duty" style health system that is implemented (can take several hits but will need to duck for cover and then... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad., December 22, 2006
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Sonic the Hedgehog (Video Game)
Everyone else has said it and I'll say it too. Horrible camera angles and extremely awkward controls. Load times are bad too. You'll find yourself waiting 30 seconds or more just to load a cheesy 3 second video clip followed by 30 seconds or more just to load the next stage. There are too many points in the game where you aren't really playing at all but simply pressing the jump button at crucial times and the springs and dash panels do all the rest. The game is a "learn as you go" style of play wherein the learning is not intuitive and you must figure it out by losing a life or two. This game is a disgrace to the Sonic franchise.

I was very excited to get this game when it first came out. I must say that the excitement wore off pretty quickly as I played through the game. It's definitely got it's high points, but the camera angles, the scattered storylines, awkward controls, and extremely long load times kill the potential.

Sonic really hasn't been the same since the Sonic Adventure games on Dreamcast, and also since the days of the Genesis..I'm hoping that the upcoming Sonic & The Secret Rings will help Sega redeem themselves.

This game's definitely fun to play, but there's too many flaws.

1.0 out of 5 stars save your money, November 29, 2006
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Sonic the Hedgehog (Video Game)
there are very few video games which lack at least one good thing to mention. This is one of them. This game is a total waste of time and money. The graphics are cheesy, the characters movements are choppy and erratic and at times they get stuck in a corner, the load time between scenes is extremely long. What irritates me most is that when starting a town mission, there is often a load screen, then a 5 second cutscene, and then another long load screen. Very very disappointing.
