It may work better on older OS's (XP or vista 32 bit systems) but it didn't work out of the box on win-7/64. There are no drivers for win-7...finally dug around and found some from other video caputre hardware that work.It does the video capture fairly well when i finally got it working. I was able to get clips off my dvr, onto my computer. I then added them to my mp4 player. I also could record from live tv if I wanted. I only did short clips and they all worked fine. The only problem I had was getting my computer to stop running background programs- they seemed to interfere with the recording. I think the secret is to download the best driver for it from the Internet. Unfortunately, the best driver is not the latest driver. It was written by eMPIA Technology, Inc. You can find it by searching for "eMPIA 5.2011.307.0" (the version number). It will be dated about March 7, 2011. The signal to noise ratio on the audio line could be a little better, although I doubt many people can discern it (I noticed it on a graph of the audio signal). |
