The Dean Vendetta Series
With four models to choose from, the Vendettas have string-through-body design, classic Dean V Ferrule pattern, dual Humbuckers, a 25.5-inch scale, and solid mahogany bodies with a maple neck. The Vendetta 1.0 and 2.0 are bolt-on models with black hardware. The 2.0 model features a solid flame maple top. The Vendetta 3.0 and 4.0 sport neck-through construction with the Pearl Evil Eye inlay running the length of the fretboard. The 4.0 version has a beautiful quilted maple top and is available in an all too popular "Tiger Eye" finish.

Mahogany Body
As with most of their instruments, Dean uses a mahogany body for the Vendettas. Mahogany is a common choice for electrics, dependably delivering a warm, full tone with plenty of punch and sustain.

The quilted maple top and back means a guitar that looks amazing, and it also focuses and brightens that mahogany tone a bit.

Neck-Through-Body Construction
The Vendetta 4.0 features neck-through construction, which is typically found on high-end instruments. This means maximized sustain, resonance throughout the whole instrument, further tuning stabilization, and (as with set necks) easier access to the upper frets.

The 25.5-inch scale maple neck features a rosewood fingerboard with pearl "Evil Eye" inlays.

Dean Humbucker Pickups
To capture the biting tones of vintage Deans, the company includes two of its "Time Capsule" humbuckers. These pickups should provide more than enough bite for modern styles, along with plenty of low-end and midrange definition. The standard three-way selector allows bridge, neck, or a combination, and volume and tone controls are provided.

Grover Tuners
If you play guitar then you know what this means--solid, dependable tuning from the industry standard. These guitar machines are a triumph in engineering and style, with a gear ratio of 14:1, perfect gear meshing, and zero backlash and slippage. The gear box has a special lubricant for lifetime, trouble-free service.

Original Floyd Rose Tremolo System
The patented and often imitated double-locking design of the Floyd Rose Tremolo System allows you to lock your guitar in tune at the nut and at the bridge. Engineered like no other tremolo system, the Floyd's high-quality steel parts are manufactured to exacting specifications. Beat it up as much as you want--from traditional vibrato to dive bombing leads or flapping loose strings, and stay in tune while you do it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for metal, January 17, 2011

This review is from: Dean Vendetta 4.0 Electric Guitar with Floyd Rose, Quilt Top, Trans Black (Electronics)
Its got a great metal tone and well built. The very first day I pulled off a string and while restringing I was not able to unscrew the saddle srews which were jammed into the saddle blocks. I tried losening the studs and the spring came aff along with the entire bridge....but I fixed it up!...thanks to all the proper allen keys that came with it! Still I was not able to unscrew the saddle screws. I had to bend the metal plates below the saddle screw and then apply sheer force(with the risk of breaking the sadle blocks!)..and was finally able to open it and restring. An adventurous experience to start with.
If you face similar problem dont try this...instead ....provided you have patience unlike me ....immerse the the entire bridge in oil for a couple of days.

Finally, coming to the guitar...neck is pretty narrow..actually the kind I like...not good for those who look for wide neck with space. The floyd rose and locking system is ok. Its comparatively light and 'sleek'... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Love it, November 18, 2011

This is a great guitar. I replaced the block under the bridge with one from FloydUpgrades. It sounds amazing. I had to restring it because the original stringing was slipping on tuning. Also, the wiring is pretty terrible, and I had to solder one of the connections together when I got the guitar - YMMV. After soldering, it's been working wonderfully. The hardware is all very high-quality, it has a nice weight to it, the bridge is incredible, allowing me to completely loosen the strings yet stay in tune. This is a great beginner/intermediate guitar!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Step up guitar, October 25, 2011

I have been playing guitar for last eight months. I started out with a Fender starcaster and realized I needed a guitar with 24 frets and Floyd Rose after I started getting the hang of it.

Right out-of-the-box, This guitar is beautiful and really looks designed for the professional. It is lightweight and fits perfectly. The action is set perfect. The tuning machines feel like quality and very durable. The strings Ernie Ball, feel great on the fingers.

The sound is a little different to Fender and may take a little getting used to. But this is a real metal guitar. One of the best songs to demonstrate the versatility is Sweet Child of mine and it spits it out perfectly. You can get a good feel of the heaviness when playing songs like Enter Sandman. This guitar basically does not come out of tune. This was a problem with Fender's tremolo during excursions.

Admittedly I am not a gig maker,, but I expect this guitar to last a long time. This is a great step... Read more
