3.0 out of 5 stars Questionable Quality Control with Mexican Fender Strat, December 7, 2011

This review is from: Fender Deluxe Players Strat Electric Guitar, Honey Blonde, Rosewood Fretboard (Electronics)
I bought this a couple weeks ago. The sound was great, but the finish is not what is depicted in the picture - the color is a light yellow (but still YELLOW), not the aged cream color in the picture. There were flaws in the finish, small but there, and flaws in the pick guard. I contacted Amazon about an exchange and got a new guitar in about a week. The replacement sounded TERRIBLE, although the finish was better it was still YELLOW. I guess this is what you get with a Mexican Fender. I decided to keep the first guitar since the sound was great and for the price, I felt like I could live with the finish. Problem is UPS still has not come to pick up the other guitar, even though that was requested over a week and half ago. Still going back and forth with Amazon about that.

Bottom line is, you may or may not get a good guitar. It can sound fantastic, or you may get one that sounds very bad. Over all the guitar is solid, but expect to take it to a Luthier to get it... Read more
