Surprise! This racket is actually quite good (stiff and light), despite its low price. There is one thing quite peculiar. I bought this one which has a stated size of 10mm and another Halex racket of size 8.5mm. Comparing the two, the grip dimensions are EXACTLY the same! The 8.5mm model is $3 cheaper, but I'd reccommend this 10mm model, because it is an one-piece construction, rather than the 8.5mm model's multi-piece construction. January 12, 2010 Update: I am ordering two additional Halex badminton rackets because they are great for the money! You can't buy a quality racket for $11 at your local sporting goods shop. I also have a Yonex Muscle Power 7 which is about four times the price of the Halex, but I don't think it is four times better. I am not an expert. However, I play intensively. I don't like the string that this racket has. Also, after using it for a month or so, I have found cracks at the joint between round part and holder. I had bought two rackets. The grip tape unravelled and the cone shaped piece that goes from grip to neck came loose, sliding up and down.. but the worst part is that the strings are so weak that the shuttlecock gets stuck between them instead of bouncing off. This happened to not just one but FOUR of these before we had a chance to even warm up! PASS ON THIS BRAND! |
