3.0 out of 5 stars great to help kids get ready in the morning, October 19, 2007
This review is from: Compact Talking Timer & Clock (Health and Beauty)
We were running out of ways to get my kids up and ready without alot of nagging and this seems to be working. I set it for the time I want them to be downstairs and it counts down outloud.
What I don't like about it, is that you can not control the volume and the
voice sounds tinny probably because of the small speaker.
Also note that you have to pull down the bottom section to get to some of the features. They don't tell you this in the instructions.

5.0 out of 5 stars talking alarm, December 2, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Compact Talking Timer & Clock (Health and Beauty)
Absolutly the best. Loud voice or just "sounds" alarms. It is so cool. I bought 2. One stays at the computer and one either travels with me, or just a 2nd reminder for the other side of the house. Easily hear over loud music or TV. Guess a third would be nice, but probable just missplaced.....needs a "clapper" finder....LOL

If a over talkative friend calls your cell phone, put on the minutes you want to talk and press start. And then you can say "need to go, the alarm is going off", and no need to tell what alarm. But the voice clearly says time like: 2 minutes left, 1 minute left, and then an every 10 second interval.

That can be annoying or just the ticket!! If time management at home is a problem, this is the greatest. Just set the timer for 30 minutes or what ever, and keep the timer either in pocket, or at desk and it gives you a deadline....and a honking horn plus a voice...LOL. But Very effective.

What is so cool is how versatal... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent if you need to take meds every 4- 6 hours, October 8, 2008
This review is from: Compact Talking Timer & Clock (Health and Beauty)
This was such an answer to prayer!!! My father has Parkinsons Disease and needs to take his meds every 4 hours on the dot. I had looked at alarm clocks that had mulitple alarms for this purpose but they were so expensive. Beings that the price of this item was inexpensive I bought it on a gamble. Well - it wasn't a gamble, but an investment in my Dad's health. We are able to set the countdown alarm to sound every 4 hours as a reminder for my Dad to take his meds. There is a talking method for the coutdown (which can be annoying but you can turn it off) and just use one of 5-6 different sounds to go off when it is time to take his meds. Both my Dad, his caregiver, physical therapist, nurse and I, are amazed that we found what we needed for med reminders in such a handy, inexpensive, reliable product. If you MUST take your meds at recurring times -- please don't hesitate to buy. You can set this to recurring times once and be done. This has imporved my Dad's health so I urge you to get...
