Absolutely priceless footage of the Indy legends of the past. You'll get to see what the story behind the famous names of the past. Foyt, Parnelli Jones, Dan Gurney, the Andrettis, the Unsers, Jimmy Clark, Roger Penske, Rick Mears. The list is endless and the DVD's are well organized. Sure, some of the older videos are not of the best quality by modern standards, but the sound is well mixed and clear. Modern film restoration is probably beyond the budget of the DVD authors and some of the older footage has visibly deteoriated. On the other hand, some of it is really good. Still, seeing the sites and experiencing the storied past of the Speedway is a breathtaking experience for open-wheel race fans. The interviews of the drivers and owners were quite illuminating and a lot of fun.

I bought this DVD set for my husband, a fan of Indy Car racing since the mid 1970's. He was flabbergasted when he opened the wrapping and almost immediately started watching the discs. He loves them. His only mild complaint is how you have to navigate through the on-screen menu for the 1970's decade. Other than that trivial isue, it's been the best Christmas present I ever bought him.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must own for any fan of the 500, December 5, 2011

A great box set for any fan of IndyCar racing or the 500. What it covers is great from 1960-1999. My only complaint is that I wish it went all the way back and I wish it was a little more current, but all in all a great set.
