My boyfriend and I both have 21.5" iMacs (the late 2009 models) and wanted to find a way to stream content from the internet on our television. We have a Playstation 3, which gives us Hulu and Netflix, but not shows on basic websites like CBS.com, ABC.com, NBC.com and so on.I was prepared to shell out $30 for a mini displayport to HDMI connector and then another $10 for a 10' HDMI cable when I came across this option. For less than $15, the price can't be beat! I read all the great reviews and figured it was worth a shot at that price. It works! Perfectly! Mini Display Port Male to HDMI Male (Electronics) I bought this in lieu of getting a short adapter and plugging in a standard HDMI cable. I've use those in the past but the problem is the adapter is so short that you have this heavy, non-flexible area a few inches from the port on the computer. I just didn't like it and found it to be in the way when in tight spaces (a crowded desk!). This cable feels nice, both ends fight tightly in their respective port, 10 feet is a great length and an extension cable is always available if necessary. I used this on the 2011 Macbook Pro and sound DOES WORK.
