Product Description
2 test kit. At-home results in 5 minutes. 2-3 month indication of average blood glucose. Small blood sample. Lab accurate. What does your A1C number meant? (Nathan DM, Kuenen J, Borg R, et al. Translating the A1C assay into estimated average glucose values. Diabetes Care: 2008; 31[8]: 1473-1478.) A1C measures your average blood glucose level over the past 2-3 months. For most people with diabetes, the American Diabetes Association (ADA) recommends that your A1C should be under 7%. A 1% point reduction in your A1C lowers the risk of serious complications by 40% (UKPDS 35. BMJ 2000; 321:405-12). Remember that your A1C is your big picture measurement. Don't use it for daily blood glucose measurement. This test is for home use monitoring of glycemic control in patients with diabetes. This kit contains: 1 A1CNow SelfCheck Monitor; 2 single-use cartridges; 2 shaker pouches; 1 quick reference guide; 1 overview and helpful hints; 1 instructional DVD; 1 extra lancet. Components manufactured in Malaysia, Singapore and USA.

I tested my A1C and compared it with the one I had drawn at the lab the accuracy of the test was right on. I am very happy to have a home test to keep my diabetes in check. 33 of 35 people found the following review helpful Was way off from lab test done within 1 hour, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Bayer A1C Now At-Home A1C System, Self Check I had high hopes and was beginning to depend on this whenI found its results were way off from lab results done within. 1 hour. A1c tests should not vary much if done within close proximity since A1c reflects 2-3 months average. For me it was off by a count of 1.2 which is unacceptable. .1 .2 or even .3 is understandable but 1.2 ? that's as good as no test done. 33 of 35 people found the following review helpful Great if you don't have insurance., By Admiral Adama "Amazon addict" (Quakertown, PA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Bayer A1C Now At-Home A1C System, Self Check I was skeptical about this home A1C so i did one test at the lab at almost the same time. The results were very similar for both. It was very easy to use and the price (per test - 2 included) was about 1/4 of going to a lab. |
