Inside the case, our patented Headlock design suspends the guitar's headstock, protecting it from impacts that could otherwise snap the neck. An oversized velcro strap quickly secures the neck against a specialized high-density foam block, which also keeps the tuning pegs away from the sides of the case during transport. On the bottom of the case the guitar's strap pin is protected by a bumper system of high-density foam, industrial rubber and ABS "feet", diverting impact up and around the body of the guitar on vertical drops. This Mono case is crazy expensive but after lots of research I decided that this is the case I wanted protecting my multi-thousand dollar basses. Now that I've been using it for several months I'm very happy with my decision. I have a couple of other gig bags that I've used in the past and they're okay for keeping my basses protected in my studio but when I'm leaving the house and putting my babies at risk I always go for the Mono. Pros: Protection. The ABS inserts, padding and other features seriously protect your investment. Neck block. As the name implies it holds the neck firmly and protects it from shock. Style. It looks cool. I've had quite a few double-takes and comments since I started carrying the Mono. Storage. While it's not got a huge volume (see below) it does have numerous pockets and straps... The front pocket is spacious enough for a small binder. The bass is fully protected and has made it safely through 4 domestic flights in one month, and it looks fantastic. It's very comfortable to carry and fits all of my 4 to 7-string basses. This case is really an investment in your instrument collection, and if you are willing to make the investment, you won't be disappointed. Ample padding, handles in the correct spots, usable pockets strategically placed etc. I chose this over the Reunion Blues version. In comparison they are of equal quality, construction and price. The reunion blues was borderline "hard case" rather than gig bag. I wanted a gig bag. That said, the Mono is slicker, lower profile, lighter and less obtrusive. Stiff, not floppy. Plenty of protection. I would have given a 5 star but I feel it is a bit expensive. I paid $170 on Amazon. The true test will be the condition of the case after years of gigs and more importantly the condition of the basses. |
