I was very worried this brush would be too small for applying a glycolic acid peel, but it was, in fact, PERFECT. I poured a small amount of the peel into a glass jigger, and dipped the brush in. It was easy to apply the peel across my forehead quickly, followed by the nose, cheeks, and chin, and I was able to get it done fast enough that I could rinse the peel off with cold water in under 2 minutes. Since I do not exfoliate my neck/decolletage area often, or use Retin-A there as I do on my face, I chose to leave the peel there over 5 minutes. The fan brush was able to apply the peel to this large area across the upper part of my chest quickly and easily. Bristles are soft enough for skin, but firm enough to hold a light gel solution w/o folding. My favorite thing about this brush, aside from the appropriate size, is that it does not separate when wet with product like so many other fan brushes do. It's a very nice brush, but I purchased it to use with a glycolic acid peel for the first time because it was recommended for that. If you're looking at this brush to use with a glycolic acid peel, I would recommend simply using a cotton ball. The scrubbing action of wiping a cotton ball over the skin is preferable when using a glycolic peel. It helps to remove all the gunk you're using the peel for. Also, using a fresh cotton ball each time is much more sanitary. |
