Warm tones from the all-koa body go along with the great look and feel. I prefer the look of black nylon strings (third wound C string) and the tenor is my favorite ukulele sound. Aside from the wonderful sound, the finish and detail is beautiful. Mine came with a nice padded bag that makes travel/storage easy and safe. EQ has treble, bass, and volume adjustment for when you plug it in, but it puts out some good sound on its own. However when it was finally delivered it was very disappointing. Despite the Uke being of solid build from fantastic Koa wood the finish was very very poor. Every surface on this Uke was ruined by dark noticeable scratches underneath the satin varnish from an orbital sander. Even the neck was covered, from the body all the way up to the tuners. Small dark swirl scratches were on the front, the sides and back in large patches. Some were so dark you could see them from 12 feet away. The Uke also had two large dings in the bottom where it had been dropped or something and the was varnish cracked and shattered. The Uke arrived in a resealed box which made me think it could have been a returned item being shipped out again, thats just my guess. If the finish of this Uke was as good as my friends production line chinese ones it would've been great. |
